"We want Braunuv Dum to be a living history venue," says majitel Christopher Peterka

We don't want Braun's house to be a dead monument. We want the halls to be used as much as possible so that something happens here. We do not want to have property in the center that would stand fallow. Clients often look for something other than classic conference facilities, but at the same time want to be in the center and in a quiet place, which still meets history.

How did you get space for rent in Braun's house?

In 2012, they bought another part of the house for what our family already owns. This was followed by an expensive reconstruction, as the previous owner did not care very much about the halls. My job is to take care of renting halls in Braun's house and taking care of the halls themselves.

What is available for rent in Braun's house?

We now own the whole house. There is a family law firm, language school and two halls available for short-term rent. One of the halls has a yard, the other is on the first underground floor. Both are independent of each other and can host two different events at the same time.

How did you come up with the idea of renting the premises?

After the reconstruction, the halls were used by my family's law firm, but the premises were not 100% used, so we thought of renting them for events. We have been constantly reconstructing the house for the last seven years. New floors, windows, courtyard. It is an older building, so it took a lot of work.

How do you deal with ancillary service providers?

We try to accommodate the client as much as possible. Although we have suppliers we can recommend, eg for catering, but we leave the client free. He can order additional services as he wants and from whom he wants.
