AVION is a newly renovated design hotel in the very heart of Brno. It is located in the historic center on Česká Street.
It offers comfortable accommodation in 37 rooms (77 beds) in various categories, 37 of which were built by Bohuslav Fuchs and this number has been preserved, as well as a hotel restaurant and café, a museum and an observation terrace.
It is one of the narrowest hotel complexes in Europe, designed by the Czech architect Bohuslav Fuchs. The hotel was designed in 1926-1927, built in 1928 and furnished in 1929. The ten-storey terraced building, built on a narrow and deep plot measuring 8 x 34 m, is 40 metres high, which still allows a fascinating view of Špilberk Castle, the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul on Petrov and the entire city of Brno from the terrace on the top floor. The building is an exceptional structure and a national cultural monument.
Together with the Villa Tugendhat in Brno, it belongs to the gems of functionalist architecture.
