Modern premises of the new theater building

The construction started in June 2012, the theater was opened on September 2, 2014. The architectural concept was created by Vladimír Kružík from Helika based on the original design of the Portuguese architectural firm Contemporânea Lda. HOCHTIEF was the supplier of the building. The author of the painted curtain is the academic painter Ivan Hejduk of KVADRA. The character of the building is complemented by a unique pre-cast façade made of cast concrete with a "bubble perforation" that has not yet been compared to us. The façade weighs more than one hundred tons and is designed to become a stage designer, a kind of plastic reinterpretation of the decorative theater curtain. It separates real life from the magical world inside the building. An unexplained part of the facade is an organic décor with 39 irregularly spaced openings, illuminated by LED color changing lights. The complex consists of two buildings, theatrical and operational. In the theater part there is a hall with a auditorium for 461 spectators and a small scene for approximately 150 spectators, with the possibility of varying the shape of the auditorium. The smaller object includes backgrounds, offices and dressing rooms. A concrete sculpture in the shape of an egg, three meters wide, is placed between the buildings.
