Former town hall building with spaces and courtyards for all sorts of events
The old town hall is surrounded by many legends. One of them talks about the creator of the Gothic portal, Master Anton Pilgram, the most famous ones about the legendary Brno dragon and the Brno bike. Unique symbols of the city are installed right in the passage of the building.
The historic core with the tower was built around 1240. The vaulted passage between Radnicka Street and the courtyard is a richly decorated portal with a legendary bent turret, which in 1511 was created by sculptor and carver Anton Pilgram, representative of Central European late Gothic. Italian builders adapted the courtyard with Renaissance arcades at the end of the 16th century; further modifications are the result of the early Baroque reconstruction.
The building houses a tourist information center and a gallery, in the summer you can see the historic halls - the Crystal Hall, the Fresco Hall and the Treasury. There is also a 63 m high tower with a Renaissance helmet and a lookout gallery.
In the short term we provide rentals of historical halls of the Old Town Hall. Halls can be used for various exhibitions, concerts, lectures, social gatherings or wedding ceremonies.
We also offer free access to the Town Hall Tower for newlyweds. Hardly anybody has a wedding photo from the town hall tower. Rental prices and services are governed by the valid price list, schools and non-profit organizations are taken into account separately.
