Reconstructed former diesel power plant for interesting events
The Piešťany Power Plant (EP) is a reconstructed industrial monument from the beginning of the 20th century. The former general diesel power plant, which began operations in 1906, is listed as a national cultural monument.
Západoslovenské energeticike, a.s. (ZSE) decided in 2009 to revitalize the power plant building for wider social use with the aim of primarily supporting the development of science and technology knowledge for children and youth. The winning project of the student architectural competition announced in 2008 by the authors Michal Ganobjak and Vladimír Hain under the guidance of Doc. Ing. Eva Kráľová, PhD. from the Faculty of Architecture of the STU in Bratislava, in addition to the chance to realize it, he also received wide international recognition at exhibitions abroad.
