A natural landscape park of 250 hectares was founded by Count Arnošt Emanuel Silva-Tarouca in 1885. Utilizing the rugged valley of Botič stream and its tributaries of Dobřejovice and Zdiměřický potok, he used the original home-made wood in combination with the imported exotic woods. As the basis of the park composition he founded masterfully chosen vistaes. Trees, trees and shrubs alternated with meadows, ponds, streams, and their blind shoulders. He has used the variability of tree species in various seasons. As a result of his lifetime efforts, he is the world's finest landscaping work that he created in his own original way.
