Distinctive industrial space in the unique premises of an old wastewater treatment plant.
Inquire venueSteam engines operated the entire treatment plant until 1967. Steam engines can still be put into operation today with operational boilers. The exceptionally preserved complex in its original premises is the only example of its kind in the Czech Republic.
Engine room: Uniquely completely preserved engine room equipment. The steam engines were manufactured according to Schmidt's patent in 1903 by the Bretfield-Daněk company. It is a single-cylinder, single-acting superheated steam engine with a differential piston, a working transfer case and injection condensation.
Boiler room: Two steam boilers were supplied in 1905 by the Breitfeld – Daněk factory. These are Cronwell-type flame steam boilers with a Fox-type flame. The heating surface of the boiler is 27 m2, the output is approximately 0.5 tons of steam per hour. The boilers were built for an operating steam pressure of 12 atm., today this pressure is officially reduced to 9.5 atm. The steam was superheated using a superheater – a Schmidt patent – to a temperature of 280 °C.
